AMT Standards Enable Safety and Health Compliance
For more than 100 years, the Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT) has provided members with key resources in the areas of safety, business development, marketing, technology advancement, best practices, and national trade policy. AMT uses committees comprised of volunteers to drive its programs, initiatives, and standards.
AMT is the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited Standards Developing Organization (SDO) for the B11 series of standards for machines. AMT works to advance the use of standards in manufacturing. AMT encourages its member firms to participate in the engineering standards development process and also works to improve member understanding of and compliance with federal regulatory standards such as OSHA and EPA.
AMT standards committees provide exposure to national and international standards development activities. Members participating on AMT standards committees gain valuable knowledge about B11 machine tool safety standards and the standards process. Other AMT technical activities address product liability, loss prevention programs, and international safety standards requirements.
