As an Internationally recognized Code, the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code has a certification program to ensure that vessels are made in accordance with the requirements needed.
Stamp Holder certification process is followed through out the world. It is critical to ensuring that the vessel is built with high integrity. But being an ASME Stamp Holder also creates an environment that places high value on safety and reducing risk. That is why equipment bearing the ASME Code symbol stamp is regarded as of the highest quality and meeting the standards to ensure worker and general public safety. The mark also helps those understand the purposes that the vessels were created for to ensure that they do not cause other deterioration factors while the vessel is being used.
Companies are not required to purchase vessels bearing the stamp. But the code has been adopted and utilized in part or entirely in most of the United States and all of Canada. In 2007 ASME has made a critical requirement change to the requirements for ASME Stamp Holders. With the new release of the code, ASME will allow electronic versions of the code to be an acceptable resource to meet certification requirements.
