The A17.1 Handbook contains rationale for A17.1 Code requirements: explanations, examples and illustrations of the implementation of requirements. It does not contain the actual A17.1 Code requirements.
A17.2 Guide for Inspection of Elevators, Escalators and Moving Walks
This Guide gives detailed procedures for the inspection and testing of elevators, escalators, and moving walks required to conform to the Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators.
A17.3 Safety Code for Existing Elevators and Escalators
This Code covers retroactive requirements for existing elevators and escalators.
A17.4 Guide for Emergency Personnel
This guide provides emergency personnel with general procedures for elevator evacuation and operation during firefighters' service.

QEI-1 Standard for the Qualification of Elevator Inspectors
This Standard contains criteria that may be used for qualifying and training of elevator inspectors and may serve as a guideline on which certification may be based.
