ASME - American Society of Mechanical Engineers

Responding to a rapidly changing global technological environment
About ASME
ASME has long been known as the leader in mechanical and multidisciplinary engineering codes, standards, conformity assessment programs, and related products and services. In 1884 ASME published its first standard, the uniform test code. Over the years, ASME has developed many standard, codes, and specifications that help engineers overcome serious engineering problems. For example The ASME Boiler Code was created to help engineers over come the issue with exploding boilers. This Code evolved to the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code that is in use today.
ASME Codes and Standards keep people safe across the world. The types of standards available from ASME include:
- Elevators, Escalators, and moving walkways
- Performance Test Codes (PTCs) for:
- Boiler Tests
- Steam Generators
- Turbines
- Pumps
- Compressors
- ASME’s Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC)
- Nuclear Facilities
- ASME Y14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing
