If your ASME standards and codes compliance is based on the 2004 edition of the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (ASME BPVC), you can still purchase copies or gain additional online subscription access to the ASME section you need through IHS. The ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code details rules of safety for the design, fabrication, maintenance and inspection of boilers and pressure vessels, power producing machines (and associated subsystems) and nuclear power plant components. The ASME boiler code sections cover power boilers and heating boilers. ASME BPVC includes pressure vessel requirements and guidelines for pressure piping as well as a section addressing fiberglass and reinforced plastic pressure vessels.

The 2004 edition of the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code contains thousands of pages of code, standards and figures. ASME separated Section II-D into Customary and Metric volumes in this edition. 2004 was the first year that ASME included Section XII, Rules for Construction, and Continued Service of Transport Tanks, in the Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code.
