This STP contains the proceedings from the symposium of the same name sponsored by ASTM Committee C-1 on Cement, C-7 on Lime, and C-12 on Mortars for Unit Masonry, and C-15 on Manufactured Masonry Units. This symposium was held in June, 2002. Two papers that were not presented at the symposium are also published in this STP.
