Flammability and Sensitivity of Materials in Oxygen-Enriched Atmospheres: 10th Volume
Steinberg TA
This STP contains papers presented at Committee G4's 10th International Symposium held in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in November of 2003. This 10th volume contains 28 papers. The papers are organized under three section headings: ignition and combustion of nonmetals, ignition and combustion of metals, failure/hazard analysis and safety, and miscellaneous which includes papers covering parametric modeling, optical techniques.
Specific topics addressed by papers in this collection include:
- resistance of polymers to ignition by pneumatic impact
- assessment of nonmetallic materials used in oxygen systems
- statistical evaluation of upward flammability testing
- ignition of materials exposed to liquid oxygen
- metallic filters for use in oxygen systems
- melting rate of metal under normal and reduced gravity
- stainless steel promoted ignition under flowing conditions
- aluminum ignition
- space shuttle external tank pressurization system failure
- analysis of fires that have been occurring in oxygen production process valves
- cause and origin analyses of fires
This STP provides an invaluable source of new information highly relevant to individuals and organizations that own, operate, or in any way interface with oxygen systems or oxygen-enriched atmospheres including marine and aerospace applications.
