Description:
The Pipe Fabrication Institute (PFI), formed in 1913, is one of the oldest and most respected industry associations in the United States.  Used in the design, manufacture, fabrication, and installation of metal piping, standards and technical bulletins of the PFI cover all production standardization within the industry, including engineering and design, welding and fabrication, cleaning, painting, and shipping, quality control, as well as examination and testing.

IHS offers the comprehensive and fully indexed set of publications from PFI, which include such topics as:

  • Internal machining and solid machined backing rings for circumferential butt welds
  • Dimensioning pipe assemblies
  • Fabricating tolerances
  • Hydrostatic testing of fabricated pipe
  • Permanent marking on piping materials
  • Wall thickness measurement by ultrasonic examination
  • Color coding of piping materials
  • Pipe bending tolerances
  • Abrasive blast cleaning of ferritic piping materials
  • Tool calibration
  • Pressure-temperature ratings of seamless pipe used in power plant piping systems
  • Reinforcement tables for steel pipe, pipe fabricator, and quality control

Online Access - Subscribers get secure online access to search, view, bookmark, track, and print documents according to the license agreement. Online documents are updated daily. Multiple users can share a single license. You also get access to IHS Standards bibliographic data – more than 1 Million documents.

Individual Documents - IHS sell individual documents through the IHS Store in electronic or hard copy formats. Statistics show that 1 out of every 5 people who purchase individual documents would benefit from an online subscription. You should consider a collection over individual document purchases if your company buys more than $3,000 in standards per year.
