Classes:
Identification markings shall be classified as follows:
Unrestricted:
Markings that may be used on any part that does not show the method of marking on the applicable drawing.
Restricted:
Markings that may have a detrimental effect on the performance of parts and therefore should be used only when specified on the applicable drawing.
