Scope:
The requirements of this Practice apply to factory-assembled 600 V fused switch motor control centers. It includes requirements for buses, enclosures, motor starters, and fused switches. All equipment is suitable for use in dry, non-classified areas or in outdoor enclosures.
Items such as panelboards and adjustable speed drives are outside the scope of this Practice. When such items are to be incorporated into the motor control center, the Buyer will specify the additional requirements.
Purpose
This Practice provides the requirements for design, fabrication, testing, and handling of low-voltage motor control centers using fused switches that will be installed in chemical plants and petroleum facilities.
