Scope:
This standard describes type I and type II asbestos-cement pressure
pipe in nominal pipe sizes from
4 in. (100 mm) through 16 in. (400 mm) in pressure classes 100, 150,
and 200. The pipe is intended
for the underground conveyance of water in water distribution systems.

Purpose
The purpose of this standard is to provide purchasers, manufacturers, and
constructors with the minimum requirements for asbestos-cement pressure pipe,
4 in. through 16 in. (100 mm through 400 mm) for water distribution systems,
including materials, design, fabrication, and testing requirements.
