Scope:
This Practice describes the requirements for instrumentation
junction boxes and is only for junction boxes installed in general
purpose or Division II area classifications with wiring and
terminals in accordance with the National Electric Code
(NEC). Junction boxes in accordance with this Practice are not to
be used for electronics or other active elements without additional
consideration.
Purpose
This Practice provides the requirements for junction boxes used
for instrumentation signals, thermocouples, and resistance
temperature detectors (RTDs).
