Scope:

This test method covers a procedure for measuring the sonic velocity in manufactured carbon and graphite materials having a grain size less than 0.80 mm (1/32 in.). The sonic velocity can be used to obtain an approximate value for Young's modulus.

The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard.
