SCOPE

The scope of the project was to include:

• software based leak detection tools and methods that are typically used with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems by pipeline operators to monitor pipeline operations

• single phase liquid pipelines only

• all the variables of the SCADA systems, the physical parameters of the pipelines, instrumentation, fluid properties and operating procedures

• all types of present software based leak detection methodologies, for example: material balance methods, transient models, pattern recognition
