Scope:
These requirements cover both household and industrial sewing and cutting machines to be employed in accordance with the National Electrical Code.
These requirements also cover small utilization products, such as vibrator-powered scissors where motion of an operating part is produced by electrical means.
These requirements do not cover equipment rated more than 600 V; nor do they cover products involving universal motors rated more than 250 V.
These requirements also cover textile equipment for use in ordinary locations but do not cover equipment intended for use in hazardous locations such as certain textile processing equipment, and yarn handling equipment.
