Scope:

This chapter covers the use of both displacement and turbine meters as master meters for proving displacement and turbine meters.

The requirements in this chapter are intended for crude oil and refined petroleum products (see Chapter 4.1). Meter proving requirements for other fluids should be appropriate for the overall custody transfer accuracy and should be agreeable to the parties involved. This document will not cover master meter calibration of field provers. For information concerning master meter calibration of field provers see MPMS Chapter 4.9.2.
