Scope:
SUMMARY
This report describes accomplishments during the initial year of a
three year research undertaking where spectrum fatigue properties of
welded ABS DH-32 steel in sea water are being accessed. Progress to
date has consisted of (1) procurement of necessary instrumentation,
(2) fabrication of a comprehensive, seven station variable amplitude
fatigue test system and (3) performance of initial tests. Eash of
these is discussed in detail. In addition, the research results are
rationalized in terms of some established concepts pertaining to
spectrum fatigue data.
