Scope:
This Practice covers minimum requirements for design, materials of construction, installation, leak testing, and inspection of steam tracing systems on equipment, piping, and instruments including steam supply piping, steam tracers, tracer traps, and condensate collection.
Purpose
This Practice provides a guideline for the design and installation of steam tracing systems with process fluids that require heating to prevent condensation, freezing, unacceptable viscosity, crystallizing, separation, or temperature control.
