1.1 Form:

This specification covers one type of organic (para-aramid) fiber in the form of yarn. The product shall be formed as a multiplicity of filaments drawn together and gathered into an approximately parallel arrangement.

1.2 Classification:

Organic fiber 1000 denier (1110 dtex) yarn with 22.6 gpd (199.5 cN/tex) nominal tensile strength and 620 gpd (5470 cN/tex) nominal tensile modulus for use in cables and cordage requiring high tensile strength and moderate modulus of elasticity in tension.
