This specification covers zinc containing primers for use on exterior steel surfaces exposed to marine atmosphere, high humidity, sea water, and weathering.

The coating shall be of the following types, classes, and compositions as specified (see 6.2.1): 

       Type I  - Aqueous solvent
       Type II - Organic (hydrocarbon) solvent
       Class 1 - Self curing
       Class 2 - Post curing
       Composition A - Organic vehicle
       Composition B - Inorganic vehicle
