Scope:
This standard covers the handling, mixing, and conditioning
procedures required to ensure that a representative sample of the
liquid petroleum or petroleum product is delivered from the
primary sample container/receiver into the analytical test
apparatus or in intermediate containers. For sampling procedures,
refer to MPMS Chapters 8.1 and 8.2. MPMS Chapter 8.4 should be
referred to for the mixing and handling of light fuels for
volatility measurement.
Throughout this standard, the term "petroleum" will be used to
denote petroleum and petroleum products normally associated with
the petroleum industry.
