Abstract

This report summarizes the results of a program performed at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) in the fall of 1981 for the purpose of assessing the performance of stiffened and unstiffened, fabricated steel cyclinders under combined axial tension and collapse pressure. This work is an extension of Phase I testing performed in 1980 and reported on at that time. The report describes in detail the procedures and results from Phase II testing.
