This specification covers analytical balances of 20 gram (g) and larger capacities with or without direct reading figures.

The balances covered by this specification shall be of the following classes and grades as specified (see 6.2). 

      Class 2 - Balances with quick weighing mechanism (see table I).
        Grade H - 200 g capacity, 0.2 maximum allowable sensitivity
        Grade I - 200 g capacity, 0.4 maximum allowable sensitivity

      Class 3 - Balances with direct reading figures, and single load
                 receiver (see table III).
        Grade L - 20 g minimum capacity
        Grade N - 80 g minimum capacity
        Grade O - 160 g minimum capacity
