ASTM International Committee D35 on Geosynthetics developed ASTM D 7465 - Specification for Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymer (EPDM) Sheet Used in Geomembrane Applications to help ensure that EPDM sheet material received by customers is consistent regardless of the manufacturer.

The standard is under the jurisdiction of Subcommittee D35.10 on Geomembranes.

Jeff PanKonie, senior engineer, Firestone Specialty Products Co. LLC and a D35 member, said that ASTM D 7465 will be the basis that manufacturers will need to meet to have their materials considered for specified projects in the lining arena.

"[ASTM] D 7465 will level the playing field and make it easier for engineers to compare like materials when selecting EPDM for their lining applications," said PanKonie.
