ASTM International Committee F15 on Consumer Products invites interested parties to participate in a new subcommittee, F15.62 on Lead in Children's Vinyl Products.
The initial goal of the subcommittee is to develop standardized test methods for exposure to and total lead content in vinyl products for children.
ASTM International Committee F15 was requested by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to explore ways to eliminate or significantly reduce children's exposure to lead in consumer products.
Bibs, lunchboxes, juvenile furniture, public and residential playground equipment, children's clothing and strollers are among the items that F15.62 may consider in their development of proposed new standards.
