IHS and Transport Research Laboratory Extend Publishing Agreement

BRACKNELL, CO, U.K. (Oct. 29, 2007) – IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS), a leading global provider of critical technical information, decision-support tools and strategic services, announced today that the company has extended its sales and publishing agreement with the Transport Research Laboratory (TRL). TRL is the internationally recognised independent centre of excellence that provides world class impartial research, consultancy, advice and testing covering all aspects of transport.

The extension grants IHS the rights to publish, promote and sell a wide range of TRL reports, leaflets, technical guidance and design data. TRL publications provide important information on transport-related subjects to local authorities, government bodies, universities and private companies.

Today’s announcement continues the relationship begun in September 2006 when IHS and TRL signed an exclusive agreement.

“We are pleased to extend the cooperation with TRL by agreeing to publish and market the TRL publications. We want to be close to the latest developments in the field of transport infrastructure and ensure that the results of innovative research are available to all our customers in different ways (hardcopy format and online).” said Andrew Sadler-Smith, Senior Vice President for IHS Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Mike Head, Commercial Development Director for TRL said “TRL is delighted to be working with IHS. Our publications are widely recognised as an important source of information on transport research and innovation. By working with IHS we believe this will increase accessibility to TRL’s research and will enable us to continue focusing our efforts on technical innovation and application. IHS has a truly global reach and an impressive pedigree in the technical information market. We look forward to developing this relationship further.”
