Bell Avon, Inc.

Challenge Bell Avon, a defense contractor specializing in the production of Hovercraft skirting systems, was required to place a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) filing in order to receive information regarding parts involved in government- related products. Such information included past pricing, usage rates and what companies make it. However, it could take up to thirty days to get a response to an FOIA request.

Solution The company selected the HAYSTACK Parts Research and Logistics service, from IHS. The HAYSTACK service includes over forty databases from various government and commercial sources that provide information on more than 18 million parts in the U.S. Government's cataloging system. HAYSTACK can provide the same information in about thirty seconds, which allows for more effective bidding and business management and which leads to increased sales.

Value Created Thanks in part to Haystack, Bell Avon has seen its government contracts increase 85% over the past two years.
