TACTRAC™ oms

The IHS TACTRAC oms (Obsolescence Management Solution) is our comprehensive program and configuration management solution used to support the requirements of complex electronic systems and identify obsolescence issues across all contract programs. TACTRAC oms sets the standard for obsolescence management tools and stands alone with innovative and unique functionality that other products can't match.

With TACTRAC oms, Bill of materials (BOM) or component manufacturer part number lists are imported and then automatically matched against the industry-leading TACTRAC reference component database. The TACTRAC database contains nearly a million semiconductor devices (integrated circuits, diodes and transistors) from more than 300 worldwide manufacturers with availability data that is updated daily.

Provided for each matched manufacturer part number is current manufacturer availability, suggested Form-Fit-Function (FFF) alternate part numbers and IHS's industry-leading life cycle modeling and part availability predictive data.

BOM parts are categorized either by your imported approved manufacturer(s) or by a preferred manufacturer availability status. Monitor your BOMs' manufacturer availability status changes by utilizing built-in alert reporting functions and by receiving TACTRAC oms generated e-mail BOM impact alert notifications.

Unique to TACTRAC oms, is its client sever based architecture. This provides complete protection of your important and valuable data accessible only from behind your corporate firewall. At no time does your configuration data leave the controls of your internal network and only the manufacturer part numbers residing in your TACTRAC oms database are sent to IHS, encrypted via the Internet.

Your subscription to IHS TACTRAC oms includes IHS TACTRAC™ COMET and IHS TACTRAC™ Component Look-Up™ — these value-added utilities combine to create an unparalleled obsolescence management tool specifically designed for program managers, design and component engineers, logistics functions and buying professionals to provide complete decision support data.

Key Features:

  • Client Sever based architecture. Provides complete protection of important and valuable data behind your firewall.
