3. IHS PARTNERS WITH NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF BUILDING SCIENCES (NIBS) NEW WEBSITE

IHS has partnered with the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) in the launch of the institute's new website, Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG). The website, which is found at www.wbdg.org, has been designed to provide a comprehensive source for essential information needed by the building community.

The web site integrates not only the specifications, standards and other criteria that currently reside on the Construction Criteria Base (CCB) website, but it also includes other information related to the unique "whole building" approach.

To read more about this partnership, visit http://www.ihs.com/engineering/press-releases/02nibs.jsp

4. TIPS ON HOW TO ACCESS IHS ON THE NIBS WEBSITE WWW.WBDG.ORG

1) NIBS has established links to individual standards available via IHS. An IHS logo in the left-hand column on the home page provides a direct link to information from IHS regarding model codes, standards, and information solutions for the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.

2) IHS is listed as an affiliate under the Mandates/References section. Also under the Mandates/References section, users can access IHS information via:

  • Model Building Codes link in the left-hand column. Clicking on this link leads users to a page from which to purchase the International Building Code from IHS.

  • Non-Government Standards link in the left-hand column. Clicking on this link will result in a listing of AEC-related non-government standards available from IHS.

3) Clicking on any of the standards references throughout the WBDG website initiates a new browser window through which the user can purchase the individual document or login to the Specs & Standards database (if they have a subscription).
